FACILITY: Our 10,000 square foot facility offers a clean, sparkly welcoming environment with 2 viewing areas, a dedicated preschool room with all the right size equipment for our littlest gymnasts!  In the gym we have a 42x42 floor, AAI balance beams, bars and vault, an in-ground tumble track, foam pit and lots of amazing training tools to help us teach great gymnastics! 

STAFF: All of our staff is handpicked!! We hire teachers that have not only a passion for the sport of gymnastics and the desire for fitness, but also those who have a great love for children. All of our Lead teachers are USA Gymnastics instructor members with safety certification in teaching the sport of gymnastics. They are also First Aid/CPR certified and undergo a background check. Along with those certifications our teachers will continue to learn all year long! They will take in house and off-site training 3-4 times a year to continue bringing only the best teaching to your child!

FAQ’S

 

Q. Can I drop my child off for classes?

A. Rising Starz is NOT equipped to supervise children before or after class. Bathrooms are located in the building and Rising Starz Gymnastics and Fitness cannot be responsible to take your child to and from the bathroom. Parents of children unable to safely supervise themselves must stay ONSITE and IN SIGHT of their child. Thank you for your cooperation in this important safety matter.

Q. Do you offer make ups?

A. Yes. Missed classes will not result in a refund or credit. However, you can attempt to schedule a make-up class within the session for each regularly-scheduled class that was missed.  Make-up classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, while still maintaining our proper student to teacher ratio.  If a make-up class cannot be scheduled due to lack of availability or conflict, the student may attend an open gym (appropriate to his/her age) as a make-up for the missed class.  Please note make-ups are not guaranteed. 

 

Q. Can I view my child’s class?

A. There will be a special area for parents to sit while class is in session. We have a lower viewing area as well as an upper viewing area. Parents will NOT be allowed to stand in the gym area or on the balcony during classes. In this area you will be able to see your child’s class. We ask that you please refrain from talking to your child during their scheduled class as this makes it difficult for the children to focus and be safe. We will hold a special parent watch night on the last night of the session where you will be able to come out and see some of the great things your child has learned. Rising Starz Gymnastics and Fitness Program Policies

Curriculum and Lesson Plans: Every lesson is structured by a lesson plan developed by Rising Starz Fitness. Each session the children will experience the use of all gymnastics apparatus: Floor, Bars, Beam and Vault. All of our lessons are structured around themes and skill progressions which help make learning safe and FUN!! If you have any questions regarding our curriculum or lesson plans please let us know!

What to wear:  Boys or Girls may wear tucked in T-shirts and shorts or leggings (nothing below the ankle) OR Leotards for Girls.  All apparel should cover the stomach area.  Sports bras or mid drift tanks are not allowed.   NO chewing gum or dangling jewelry. Hair should be pulled neatly and securely away from the face so that is stays up for the entire workout. Girls should not wear bows or other large hair ornaments that may cause discomfort during activity. Personal items should be left in cubby holes. Jewelry should not be worn during classes. PLEASE LEAVE JEWELRY ARTICLES AT HOME. This facility's staff will not be responsible for ANY items that may be lost or stolen. Be sure your student's personal items are marked with their name.

 

 

Reports and Parent Communication:  A monthly E-Newsletter is emailed at the beginning of each month to all our subscribers, letting you know about the upcoming events at Rising Starz. If you don't receive our E-News, you can sign up for emails on our website here: E-News Sign up.   Starz Achievement sheets will go home at the end of Fall 1 and then again at the end of Winter 1 showing your child’s progress through our program.  

 

Missed Classes:  If you missed a class you may schedule a make-up or attend an open gym. Make ups are subject to class availability. Make-ups must be used within the current or following session.

 

Questions Regarding Program or Teachers:   If you have any questions regarding our program or our teachers, you can contact us by email at risingstarzgymnastics@yahoo.com or by phone at 616-202-7953. We do our best to keep consistency with schedules and teaching staff. There will be times throughout the year that certain days/class times will have teacher changes due to the availability of our staff. We work hard to provide quality staff of all levels and know that consistency is important to our families. We will always try notify families when your class will be having a teacher change. If you would prefer a certain teacher, please feel free to contact us for that teacher’s specific teaching schedule and we will do our best to accommodate all requests.

Arrival and Pick up:  Be sure your student arrives 5 minutes before (no earlier please) his/her scheduled class time. Please pick up your student on time. Please inform us if you know you will be late picking up your student. Instruct your student to wait inside the building and you should escort them from the building to your car. During peak times the parking lot is crowded. Please take into consideration that our students may include young children. Please drive slowly and carefully. Do not take a chance on your student running to and from your car.

Rising Starz Membership, Drop, & Payment Information 

FAMILY MEMBERSHIP FEE:   All families will be charged a Family Membership fee of $40.00 upon class registration.  The Membership Fee will expire on the last day of the summer session each year.  This is a required fee to participate in classes at Rising Starz.

CANCELLED CLASSES: Rising Starz reserves the right to cancel classes due to extreme weather and they will always make decisions that are based on safety of our staff and students.  If your class is cancelled due to weather, refunds and credits will not be issued.  Make up options will be made available.  If we have to cancel class due to a teacher illness or other circumstances we will do our best to provide make up options for families.  In these circumstances, if a make up option can not be offered a credit can be requested.  No refunds will be given.


AUTO-ENROLLMENT AGREEMENT (FALL 1 THROUGH SPRING SESSIONS)-ALL RECREATIONAL & PRESCHOOL CLASSES

Rising Starz Gymnastics and Fitness class enrollment will be considered continuous from Fall 1 through Spring of each school year.  We do however, enroll mid year/session at a pro-rated price.  Enrollment from start date through our spring session would also be considered as continuous.  The Summer Session (June-August), will be considered as an individual session and is not included in the continued enrollment agreement.  A credit card is required to be on file on your account for auto-draft which will take place on the 6th week of the session for the next session of classes.  Members agree that, if for any reason, they wish to change the status of their classes, they must give Rising Starz written notification before their next draft date.  Rising Starz reserves the right to adjust tuition rates as necessary.  Any drops, past the draft deadline, but before the start of the next session will be eligible for a refund, but will be charged a 10% refund/service fee.   

 

DROP PROCEDURE:

NEW FAMILIES: 100% Money Back Guarantee: This applies to NEW students only.  If after attending two classes, you choose to drop from the program, you may do so and receive a full refund.  You will have 6 days from the completion of your child's 2nd class to apply for a full refund.  Drops will only be eligible for a credit on your account with proper written notice after that date.

OTHER DROP REASONS:

If you choose to drop a class after the session begins a credit will be placed on your account minus applicable charges of attended classes.  There are no refunds after the 1st day of the session.  If you notify us that you would like to drop your class before the 1st class in writing, you can request a full credit (no additional fees) or a refund (10% refund/service fee). 

 

  • PARENTS MUST NOTIFY RISING STARZ GYMNASTICS AND FITNESS TO DROP A STUDENT FROM CLASS. Only a written notice via email, or hand delivered to our front desk will be acceptable.

  • Drops past the 1st day of the session are eligible for a pro-rated credit to their account.  There will be NO refunds for classes past the first day of any session. 

 

Please note: You are responsible for payment for your student's classes WHETHER OR NOT YOUR STUDENT ATTENDS CLASS until the time you notify the office staff VIA WRITTEN NOTICE. Please do not rely on your student to verbally let us know that he/she will no longer be attending classes.  Regardless of attendance, you will be charged for sessions that have not been officially dropped because we will be holding the student's place in that class instead of offering that place to one of the many on a waiting list.

REFUND POLICY FOR CAMPS/EVENTS/PARTIES: There are no refunds for camps or special events. Cancellations, 7 days prior to camp or special event will receive a credit on their account. There are no refunds for birthday party or field trip deposits if cancelled or the date is changed.
